| Welcome to D
During the next few weeks more courses will be announced and new ones will be opening for enrollment. We know that there are other sources for on-line sewing classes and we’ve been asked about what makes us different. I’m going to try and do my best to explain more about our planned methods of teaching. When you register at Destination Sewing, Inc. you will be entering a true educational classroom environment. The instructor has a variety of media and methods to choose from, so it will vary from course to course. Most of the time it will be a combination of PDF files, text, graphics, video, and forums. Chats are available to the instructor, however they are encouraged to be used only for one on one with a student. We want to give all of our students the chance to partake in all aspects of the sewing course. Other tools that can be used will be glossaries, FAQ’s and even Wiki’s, just a name a few. A true interactive classroom environment. This is not the type of sewing school where you just download a PDF file and participate in chats if you are available. Although I have taken these classes and they were good, we are trying to take sewing classes to the next level. Our goal is to have the student interact with the instructor and other students to help increase the level of learning for everyone. This method of learning is not new. It is being used by all over the world in all types of academic situations. Why should sewing be any different? So I do hope that you will join us on this fun, education-filled ride. Some classes being planned are: · Beginning Sewing · Dart Manipulation Open for enrollment (Need to be logged in) · Changing the Opening (open for enrollment soon) · Neckline Designs (open for enrollment soon) · Designing Sleeves · Designing Collars · French Seams Open for enrollment (Need to be logged in) · Hong Kong Seams (Open for enrollment May 11th) · More coming that will be announced soon. New instructors will also be announced soon. As a reminder, we are always looking for qualified instructors. Please feel free to ask me about our methods or let us know what courses you would like to see developed. Happy Sewing!!
